All-on-4 – Tulsa, OK
Support a Full Smile with Four Quality Implants
After losing most or all their teeth, most people get dentures so that they can continue to talk clearly and eat all of their favorite foods again. You’ve probably heard that dental implants could be an excellent way to keep your new teeth from slipping or your jawbone from breaking down, but did you realize that this could be done with just four implant posts? Having been placing implants since 1987, Dr. Rigdon is well-qualified to perform the All-on-4 procedure. Contact Rigdon Dental & Associates to learn more about this procedure and how it could leave you with an all-new smile that looks and feels natural.
How Do All-On-4 Implants Work?
Like any kind of implant procedure, All-on-4 involves the placement of titanium posts in the jaw. Said posts will perform the same functions as a tooth root; that is to say, they will anchor your prosthetic tooth or teeth in place, and they will stimulate the jaw so that it doesn’t break down. For this particular approach, four implant posts are used; the two near the back of the mouth will be tilted at a 45-degree angle so that they can integrate with the areas of the jaw where bone density is highest.
Am I A Candidate for All-On-4 Implants?
All-on-4 is only used for full arch replacement. You may be a candidate if you have either lost most or all of the teeth in your upper or lower jaw. A certain level of bone density is also required, but fortunately the All-on-4 placement technique is designed to take advantage of the tissue that’s already there, so you most likely won’t need a bone graft. If you have gum disease or smoke, we’ll need to address these issues before the surgery.
What Are the Benefits of All-On-4 Implants?
- Convenience: Your new teeth will stay permanently attached to the implants. They will not have to be removed for cleaning, and there is no need to use an adhesive to keep them in place.
- Comfort: Many patients say that implants feel just like their real teeth once they’ve joined with the bone.
- Diet: You can enjoy all your favorite meals without restriction thanks to the chewing power that implants provide, which is comparable to natural teeth.
- Durability: An implant post will last much longer in your mouth than traditional forms of tooth replacement.
All-On-4 VS Traditional Dental Implants
It can take 6 to 8 posts to support dentures using normal implant surgery, and you’ll likely need a bone graft if your jawbone has already started to break down. All-on-4 is much more conservative in comparison and generally requires fewer preparations. And if you can’t wait to start enjoying the benefits of an implant-retained smile, you may be able to get prosthetic teeth sooner since All-on-4 implants are often able to support the load of temporary dentures right away.
