Sedation Dentist Calming Tulsa Patients

Would you like to close your eyes and wake up with a brighter, more complete smile? Are you anxious about dental procedures? We can help! Dr. Rigdon has practiced sedation dentistry for 16 years and our staff is also highly-skilled in the proper care and administration of sedation. You will be monitored by medical equipment throughout your entire visit as well.

You Are A Candidate For Sedation Dentistry If:

  • You have a fear of dental work and shots
  • You have had traumatic dental experiences in the past
  • You have a low pain threshold
  • You have a bad gag reflex
  • You have trouble getting numb and local anesthetics don’t seem to work well
  • You have sensitive teeth or gums
  • You hate the sounds, smells, and tastes associated with dental care

WE OFFER TWO TYPES OF SEDATION DENTISTRY:

ORAL SEDATION

Oral sedation (sleep dentistry) is a deep form of sedation. You take one to two tiny pills before your appointment and have a companion accompany you to the office. Once at the office, you will be relaxed, pain-free, and unaware of your treatment. When done, which will seem like just minutes have passed, you will feel like you have had the best nap of your life and remember very little or nothing at all about your visit.

Because you are so comfortable, we can accomplish your dental treatments in only a few appointments rather than many. Complex treatments that often require 6 to 8 appointments can be done in as few as one, all while you rest peacefully!

WE OFFER TWO TYPES OF SEDATION DENTISTRY:

NITROUS OXIDE SEDATION

Dr. Rigdon is also trained in the use of Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Conscious Sedation (laughing gas) to help reduce your anxiety and provide a more comfortable dental experience. Nitrous Oxide is the most common form of inhalation anesthesia. Nitrous Oxide is a pain-relieving and sedating gas that is combined with oxygen to make the patient feel comfortable and relaxed during dental treatment.

The benefits of Nitrous Oxide are a rapid onset, no lingering effects, no hangover effect, the ability to converse during treatment, and patients can drive themselves to and from the appointment.
